Cherokee Sage Woman

I've never heard of this film...what's it about?

It's an hr & 1/2 of driving in a Humvee thru the desert (LA to Palm Springs?) Very little dialogue.. lots of roadside screwing (because you know how great those Joshua trees & cacti feel against your skin!)
Photographer & his galpal endure too long 'empty' scenes for their supposed 'artsy-fartsy' appeal. Then out of the blue a huge 4 wheeler full of skinheads bashes into their Humvee (do I suspect a phallic war here?).. takes the 2 out.. strips the girl.. makes her watch as they beat & rape her boyfriend.
They try to recover in a motel room, when he goes nuts in the bathroom.. shaves his head w/ a knife, comes out & stabs her (repeatedly) to death.. then proceeds to kill himself in the desert. Again a long drawn out scene of the police walking around his torso.
Fade to black, end of movie.
Now aren't you sorry you asked? ha
And this thing won critical awards from the Cannes Fest.. go figure.
 

Hmmmm. Well, I think it's somewhat interesting the writer chose to rape the man. That's an interesting twist, at least!

Although, overall, I AM sorry I asked. :)
