Sadness..

And now they are predicting that they expects the fatalities to be in the thousands in New Orleans..
My heart goes out to them. My prayers go up for them.
Comments:
I am with you. I wish that I could go down and really dooo something. I guess that I will have to take the classes and go next time there is a crisis somewhere, or go later when people are starting to get tired. I have decided that I can not watch the news today.

I read that they don't think people can go back to their homes for, like, four months. Can you imagine being displaced for that long - not knowing the extent of the damage or what the future holds? Scary.

Thoughts and prayers galore...

Exactly.. they're keeping the Astrodome open to them thru Dec. Imagine sitting in a stadium seat for 4 months! Dear lord..
And then the looters.. which hardens your heart a little. I do hope they get control of that situation soon. I can see taking food & water.. but guns? Big screen TVs? C'mon people.

The really sad part is most of the loss of life could have been prevented. This huge evac effort now could/should have been done two days before the storm. I know they put out warnings and told people to leave, but no one offered to help the poor leave.
What are they not worth the effort until half or more of them have died? Society sucks!!
