About Me
- Name: sandegaye
- Location: Tellico Plains, Tennessee, United States
I am a spiritual being having a physical experience. I love delving into the inner world & learning all I can about why I'm here & where I'm going. My mother, now transitioned to another plane, was a Cherokee shaman. She taught me the meaning of 'Namaste'.. meaning 'I recognize the God in you', and 'Nokomis'.. meaning 'Walk in Beauty', a Navajo term, that tells us to walk in balance with all of earth. My father, also transitioned, was a fun-loving Irishman who taught me the joy of risktaking, traveling, & living life to its fullest. I have hopefully taken the best of their offerings in forming the 'me' I am today. I am the mother of six, grandmother of five, stepmother of 2 more & step-gram for 6 more. My cup is full & running over..;o) My goal is to live 'juicy'!

So THIS is how you get into Harvard..
I sure hope he can get the brown off his lips by then..
Anatomy of a Republican
It was a tough choice for blogging my ire this morning.. what w/ the Fox analyst (oxymoron, I know) saying that global warming was all a hoax from environmentalists who are fighting development & want to throw us back into the Stone Age. Ah, the Stone Age.. remember that? No life-killing levels of CO2? But unfortunately the brain-wave levels of Dubyah.. so it's a crapshoot.
But the GOP anatomy lesson won out.
Here's thinking healing thoughts for Elizabeth Dozier, & the families of the 2 CBS cameramen killed yesterday. All of this for Bushit's ego.. what a cost.

As if we didn't see THIS coming..
Get ready for the SS boys to fire up soon. Those super-duper 'righties' in their fine khaki wear.
When even Gen Tommy Franks brags that 'another terrorist attack, & we'll be in a 'Military State'.. (while salivating).. one can only imagine the horrors.
I think I'm about ready to become an immigrant myself.
Where can I find 'Lefty-Land?'

WHEW! Now the world is a safer place.
Spaulding reports that Polish broadcasters are pulling ads for tampons, lingerie and beer during the Pope's vist. Ads for flammable and explosive materials will also be taken off the air while the Pope is in town.
Africa or bust..

She & her Ladyfriend are headed off to Tanzania to volunteer for 3 weeks. And while most of us can't go along, we can support them in spirit & funds.
I'm so excited for them, & can't wait to read about their trek!
My check is in the mail.
And if I knew any Afrikaner I'd be inserting something blythe & cool about here. In the least, some clicks & whistles.. but alas I am not multi-lingual.
So just give to this worthy cause!!

Now why can't the U.S. learn a few things from Scotland??
I loved the term in this story, 'heteroist'. Indeed, we are a world of diversity.. let's get beyond the 'heteroist' narrow views.
And here's to the federal courts for striking down the Oklahoma law against gay adoptions! Let's hope this carries over into the rest of the country.
If you haven't had the chance to see the HBO movie of 'Family Cruise' with Rosie O'Donnel & her wife & kids... treat yourself! I swear, I couldn't watch it without tears of joy.
Happy Sunday everyone! Be blessed.

Taking back the Pulpit
Nice to know that the Liberals just might make it to the Pearly Gates..ha
To me, this is what 'religion' should be about.. social conscience, peaceful actions, and equality. So it's nice to see the 'lefties' making advances toward reclaiming 'God' as one of us.
In my mind, our time here on this earth-school is to gain some spiritual insight about who we are & why we're here. We learn a few lessons, we're tested a bit.. we leave this plane, then we come back to give it another go. Ebb & flow, cycle & recycle.
Sadly, too many of us get caught up in the multitude of the mini-dramas of politics, religious zealotry, and petty nuances surrounding us. It blocks the 'big picture' of loving & forgiving our fellow 'students' in this classroom. I'm the 1st one to cry out 'Guilty!'
But once in awhile we see outside that veil..

Divine Denial??
They have won awards!
But we in this country of fear based right wing paranoia think we have the exclusivity of the 'Christian' way of life..
We are to be pitied.

MUST SEE!!!
I sat back while the Warren Commission told lies about the Kennedy assassination, thinking surely my country wouldn't mislead me, would it?
But this time I'm speaking out & sharing this w/ whoever will watch & listen. We've been fed the pablum too long. Someone needs to impeach this entire administration! NOW!!!

TGIF
And I'm happy to read that O'Reilly's polls are plummeting, for whatever reasons..
And that Colbert hasn't made a grandiose apology for making the monkey-man grimace last Saturday night.
And that maybe, just maybe we as a nation will reach a 'critical mass' of being pissed off, & may just make a difference at the polls this fall. Please God!
But other than that, I'm good.
Today marks the 5 yr anniversary of when Dan proposed. Right about this time of day, actually. Talk about eloquent responses. He says, 'I want to be with you for the rest of my life.. I want to be your husband, & for you to be my wife'.. & in my infinite wisdom & cool reserve.. said, 'ARE YOU KIDDING?!'
duh..
I think I did see 'fight or flight' in his eyes at that point. But dammit, he'd committed himself. ;o)
And so I pledged my dowry of 4000 boxes of books & 3000 boxes of CD's (not the monetary ones).. & a well-oiled computer. How could he resist?
247 roundtrip truckloads of my crap, & a new hernia later.. we were officially roommates.
Ahhh, old love. There are nothing like grandparents-in-love to renew one's faith in 'live-now/die-later'.
I think we're still pretty cute old farts. We still hold hands & kiss a lot. And we share sunsets, nice meals & a menagerie of wildlife.. here on the mtn top in TN. We have our dreams of winning the lottery & taking everyone of you on a big cruise.. that's right even you there in Spain/Bogota/Sweden (where do you folks find this obscure site & why do you not write??)
We also have our reveries of days past.. even if there are only 1825 of them. And we plan for the huge 50th yr gala in the nursing home. I'll be 103, he'll be 104. Please! Do consider yourself invited! We'll be registered at the Walgreen's pharmacy.. no gift too small.
And there will be green jello (shots for you whipper-snappers). For use as food-fights in the great grandchild division. And simply sustenance for Dan & I.. (along w/ Ensure cocktails)
I do hope that you're all enjoying your Friday.. Cinco de Mayo & all.
Throw that sombrero on the floor & tequilla shots all around!

Can you believe the Dems are ganging up on Colbert now??
Is it any wonder the GOP will maintain control of the gov't when 'our' side cowers in fear of the Emperor-with-no-clothes? Dems are pathetic these days..

In honor of the Immigrants (which would be all of us)
~~~~~
Doing Without
's an interesting
custom, involving such in-
visible items as the food
that's not on the table, the clothes
that are not on the back
the radio whose music
is silence. Doing without
is a great protector of reputations
since all places one cannot go
are fabulous, and only the rare and
enlightened plowman in his field
or on his mountain does not overrate
what he does not or cannot have.
Saluting through the windows
of cathedral glass those restaurants
we must not enter (unless like
burglars we become subject to
arrest) we greet with our twinkling
eyes the faces of others who do
without, the lady with the
fishing pole, and the man who looks
amused to have discovered on a walk
another piece of firewood.
It wouldn't even have paid for a tank of gas, anyway
Do they REALLY think we're that dumb? I would say avoid Frist (in any capacity) at all costs!
Frist Blows It Yet Again. $100 Rebate Plan For High Gas Prices Backfires On GOP...
NY Times April 30, 2006 at 11:03
The Senate Republican plan to mail $100 checks to voters to ease the burden of high gasoline prices is eliciting more scorn than gratitude from the very people it was intended to help.
Aides for several Republican senators reported a surge of calls and e-mail messages from constituents ridiculing the rebate as a paltry and transparent effort to pander to voters before the midterm elections in November.
